Cross Country
BHS cross country boys ran their way to a first place team score Thursday afternoon at the Allen Academy Invitational. The race in College Station was muddy, but that didn’t stop sophomore Marco Yeppez from placing fifth and setting a personal best time of 21:14. Zach Bernal, only a few seconds behind Marco, finished without any shoes. Shortly after the first mile of the race, Zack ran through a very deep area of mud losing both shoes, only one of which was ever recovered. Thanks to support from the track and wrestling programs, this years cross country team is solid and has caught the winning fever.
Individual places for BHS were:
5 Marco Yeppez
6 Chris Moya
10 Zach Bernal
11 Jesus Reyes
12 Zach Escobar
22 Chris Tello
23 Manuel Hernandez
