FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRYAN INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
SEPT. 29, 2009
Bryan ISD, like most school districts across the state, is experiencing flu-related absences among students and staff. Until further notice, illness-related absences will not count against exam exemptions or perfect attendance records.
Students who are ill must present a note from their parents or medical professional upon returning to school.
Parents are encouraged to monitor children for flu-like illnesses, and keep children home if symptoms are noticed for at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever, or signs of a fever, without the use of fever reducing medicines.
Bryan ISD is monitoring daily attendance numbers and will communicate any school closures should they become necessary. At this time, absentee levels are not high enough to warrant any school closures.
