Yearbooks will be delivered in late summer. Information will be sent out via the all -call system and put on the marquee.
VIPS - Volunteers in Public Schools
Parents are encouraged to participate in their child's education by volunteering. Volunteers are needed to help in the classrooms, library, office, and PTO. A volunteer can be a parent, friend, grandparent, aunt, uncle, and older brother or sister. Volunteer work can be done at the school or in the home.
As a volunteer it is very important the the hours you give to the school be recorded on special card on the desk in the lobby.
The VIPS Coordinators for Bowen Elementary are Vita Register, Melinda Mosley, Amber Boriskie, Page Thornton, and Angie Summerlin. For more information contact the school office at 209-1300.
In order to participate in any event as a volunteer you must have completed a "Criminal Background Check" form. A new form must be completed every school year.
One way parents can become involved in their child's school is by joining the PTO. The cost for membership is $3.00 per person $5.00 per family. "Friends of Bowen" memberships may also be purchased at the cost of $25.00. "Friends of Bowen" membership names are in the yearbook and engraved on a special plaque that hangs in the hallway of the school.
