Johnson Elementary PTO supports our school through various fund-raising activities:
An annual t-shirt sale to promote school pride
A pansy sale for Johnson families to sell flats of pansies for community beautification
A cookie dough sale
A fall family dinner and movie outing
Two annual book fairs
Breakfast with Santa in early December with crafts, entertainment, and door prizes
A Spring Fair with crafts, games, an auction, and an amusement for children of all ages
An art program where student art work is transformed into products such as magnets, mouse
pads, hats, tote bags, and t-shirts for sale to Johnson families
An annual yearbook is produced and sold to Johnson families in order to preserve school memories for years to
come
The income generated by the PTO has been used to provide improvements and gifts for our school. Some of these include:
A canopy for our outdoor basketball court
Annual $300 college scholarship awarded to a college-bound Johnson Elementary alumni
Annual support of the Bryan High School Project Graduation, which provides a celebration for all
graduating seniors in a safe environment
Purchase electronics for better learning environment: LCD Projectors, Document Cameras, and
Smart Boards
Wrought iron fence installed around adjoining community park
Rock wall for our physical education classroom
Student material preparation equipment such as die-cut machinery and a state-of-the-art copy
machine
Marquee placed at the corner of the Johnson school property, which is constantly updated with the
latest happenings at our school,
New playscape for the kindergarten playground
Computerized card catalog for our library
New sound system to enhance our school assemblies
Digital camera and a new camcorder for recording memorable school moments, and
New podium with a built-in sound system for our school assemblies.
