Physical Education
Mitchell students attend physical education three times a week. Students in grades kindergarten through second grade participate in daily activities that focus on locomotor and non-locomotor skills, manipulative skills, as well as fitness level and movement awareness. Third through fifth grade students participate in two to three week units such as hockey, football, soccer, basketball, gymnastics, track, etc.
Students will be participating this year in the Presidents Challenge and will also have the opportunity to participate in "Jump Rope for Heart ." This is a fund raiser for the American Heart Association. Kids are encouraged to stay fit through the introduction of lifetime sports such as tennis, Frisbee, and golf. We exercise, run laps and play lots of fun games. Mitchell physical education focuses on fitness, health, and most of all fun while staying active. Our coaches are Corbin McBurnett and
