The Adult Learning Center is one of the largest programs in the 15-county Region VI ESC area. The Center offers group, individual, and computer-assisted instruction in basic literacy skills, Adult Basic Education and GED preparation for all Brazos Valley adults over the age of 16 who are working toward a high school equivalency certificate.
Classes in English as a Second language (ESL) are also offered.
Morning and evening ESL and GED classes are offered and registration is required. Classes meet throughout the year at the ALC campus, 1700 Palasota Drive in Bryan.
The Bryan ISD Even Start Family Literacy program is housed at the ALC. Even Start offers adult education, parenting classes, parent/child together time to parents, and a licensed child development center for children of parents attending Even Start.
Adults must live in the Bryan ISD service area and meet certain other requirements to participate in Even Start.
