2009 Cross Country
Though small in size, BHS Cross Country is alive and strong. Sophomore Marco Yeppez has been running hard and improving his times with every race. This is his first year competing at the High School level and he is showing great potential. In all of his races this year he has finished in the top 45%.
Boys JV/Varsity 3.1 Miles
Temple Invite 72/176 22:35
Belton Invite 83/183 22:20
Waller, Run With the Dogs 31/88 20:30
Also running a 2 mile Freshman race at Waller was Eduardo Castillo, placing 34/38 in 15:29.
Kalie Brown, Ignacio Jeminez, and Evan Morrison have yet to compete.
BHS cross country has a serious need for runners. Other schools in our District are competing with teams of 50-70 runners. It takes 5 finishers in each division to qualify for a team score and to move from District to Regionals. Coaches/Teachers if you know of any student that needs to be involved in a sport or who can run, boys or girls, please send them my way. Freshman and JV races range from 1.5 – 2 miles, a distance any student can achieve with a few days of practice.
