Graduation Requirements
Our school year consists of two semesters.  All classes meet 5 days per week, with each day made up of 7 class periods.  Students may graduate under the Minimum Plan, the Recommended Plan, or under the Distinguished Achievement Program (D.A.P.).

To see current graduation requirements, visit the Academic Advising Center web page.

TEKS
In addition to meeting the credit requirements of the Bryan Independent School District, each senior must successfully complete an exit test required by the state of Texas. The Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills assessment test the students ability in reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and history.

Grading System
Each student's grades will be averaged based on a 4.0 scale. Modification for a classes base average may be changed with level of difficulty.

Modified Courses
100=3.0
Regular Courses
100=4.0
Academic Courses
100=5.0
Advanced Courses
100=6.0

Courses designated as Pre-Ap or Honors will receive academic weighting, and as Advanced Placement or dual credit college courses will receive advanced weighting. Additional weighting will not appear on student's report cards or transcripts. Weighting is used solely to calculate GPA.

Class Ranking
Students are ranked according to their grade point average.  The initial ranking is done during the summer before a student's senior year. A specific numerical class rank is assigned. The initial ranking is reported to colleges and universities as students apply for admission. For the purpose of recognition at graduation exercises, the class ranking of honor graduates and the top two percent of the graduates shall be calculated at the end of the fifth six weeks of their senior year.
