GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students need 22, 24 or 26 credits to graduate from Bryan High School.  We place all students on the Recommended Plan in an effort to prepare students for post-high school education.  A waiver can be obtained once the student is an 11th grader and it becomes clear s/he will not be able to meet the requirements for the Recommended Plan; the student can then graduate on the state minimum plan, which requires 22 credits.

English (4 credits)
Math (3 credits; 4 credits class of 2011+)
Science (minimum plan = 2 credits; recommended plan = 3 credits [4 credits class of 2011+])
Social Studies (4 credits)
Health (½ credit)
Speech (½ credit)
PE (1.5 - 2 credits)
Technology (1 credit)
Fine Arts (1 credit; for recommended plan)
Foreign Language (2 credits; for recommended plan)
Electives (3.5 to 5.5 credits)

Class of 2011 ...
Starting with the graduating class of 2011, students will need 26 credits to graduate on the Recommended Plan. What changed? The Texas Legislature has added the requirement that students take 4 years of Math and of Science (instead of 3 years).
