The Lamar Alternative High School serves as an advocate for pupils in at-risk situations in Bryan by enabling them to achieve educational success in an alternative setting. Location Lamar Alternative is located at the Lamar Center for Alternative and Accelerated Education 1901 Villa Maria 979.209.2700 Principal Emily Feagan efeagan@bryanisd.org 979.209.2783 Counselor Tanya Johnson tljohnson@bryanisd.org 979.209.2703 Students at Lamar Alternative attend either from 8:00 a.m. to Noon or from Noon to 4:00 p.m. and learn in a self-paced environment.  Students must have their own means of transportation (no Admission to Lamar Alternative is based on assessment (TAKS scores), grades, attendance, behavior, and an interview.  Students who are interested in attending Lamar Alternative should first visit with their Bryan High School or Rudder High School Academic Advisor who will give them an application.  Prior to applying, a student must have passed Algebra 1; it also is recommended that the student have completed a Fine Arts credit. Interviews will be conducted every Wednesday, beginning September 9th.  Students who are accepted into Lamar Alternative will begin classes the Friday after they interview.
