Bryan ISD has a wide variety of programs for students to get involved in as part of the school day.  Some programs are open to all students, others require an application, an interview, and/or an audition.

BISD COMMON APPLICATION
The common application can be used to apply to these five programs:  
  • Hammond-Oliver
  • Jr Airforce ROTC
  • Bryan Collegiate High School
  • AVID
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
Application Instructions
1.      Download the application here.
2.      Print and fill out the necessary pages. (Student may apply for more than one program.)
  • Bryan Collegiate High School applicants need to fill out pages 1, 2, and 3.
  • AVID applicants need to fill out pages 1 and 4.
  • Hammond-Oliver applicants need to fill out pages 1 and 5.
  • ROTC applicants need to fill out pages 1 and 6.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) applicants need to fill out pages 1 and 7.
2.      Return your application either to your academic advisor or to the program director.


COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM
Housed at Bryan High School, the Cosmetology program is directed by Sharonda Williams (smwilliams@bryanisd.org).  This two-year program is open to 11th and 12th graders who are on track for high school graduation.  Cosmetology 1 and 2 are three-period courses and require an application and interview.  Students in Cosmetology earn 3 elective credits each year in addition to PE substitutions.  Please click on the following items to download and print the three parts of the application:

YEARBOOK
The Saga is put together by BHS students under the direction of Rebecca Dominy (rdominy@bryanisd.org).  If you are interested in working on the yearbook, download and fill out this application.  Students in Yearbook earn an elective credit.


PEACEKEEPERS / PEER MEDIATION
This mediation program trains students as mediators in order to help others on their own campus (or feeder campuses) resolve their conflicts in a peaceful manner.  Cassandra Kilgore (casslee@bryanisd.org) is the program director.  Download the application.  The application includes a teacher evaluation form that the application must give to three teachers. Students in Peacekeepers earn an elective credit.


PEER ASSISTANCE AND LEADERSHIP (PAL)
The PAL program is open to 11th and 12th grade students.  This peer assistance program trains students to work with other high school students and middle/elementary school students.  The program combats school violence, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, gang participation, and dropping out.  Click to learn more or visit with program director Rodney Paris (rparis@bryanisd.org).  Download the application.
