Registering for next year's classes is an exciting and important event.  Taking the time to choose the courses you want is crucial -- based on YOUR choices, we determine the number of teachers we need for a course and how many students will be in a class.

Over the past few years, the Academic Advisors have come to see the importance of meeting with each student face-to-face to help plan for the next year's courses, check in on each student's progress, share information relevant to each grade level, and answer questions students have.  Because of the size of our campus, meeting with each student takes many months; as a result, registration at the high school is no longer an event at a particular time, but rather an on-going process.

The goal for Fall 2009 is to meet with 11th grade and 9th grade students.  We will meet with 10th grade students in the Spring (in addition to finishing up with any 9th and 11th graders we did not get to in the Fall), with a goal of being done before Easter.  Registration at the 8th grade campuses will take place in February when Advisors visit classrooms to share information and help student select courses.

9th grade conference topics
  • Four-Year Plan (emphasizing courses for next year -- in other words, registration)
  • Share info about classification (What does it take to be a sophomore? A Junior? A Senior?, Summer School, our Schedule Change Policy, and our Semester Averaging Policy)
  • Check on grades, discuss semester averaging policy
  • Getting involved in clubs and organizations at BHS

10th grade conference topics -- to be determined

11th grade conference topics
  • Review credits/courses needed for graduation and share student's transcript
  • Junior Year To Do List

Athletics
If you have questions about athletics, please contact the Athletic Office at 209-7990.

Current 8th graders can register for an athletic period in 9th grade ONLY if they are currently in athletics. All other students need to speak to the high school coach of the sport they hope to play.
