The Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) is a state-mandated standardized test administered in Texas public schools.

At this time, the passing standard for all tests is a score of 2100 or better.

9th graders are tested in Reading and Math.  The Reading test is in March; the Math test is at the end of April.

10th graders are tested in all four core subjects: English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.  Scores on this test determine the rating the Texas Education Agency (TEA) gives BISD.  The E/LA test is in March; the other three tests are at the end of April.

11th graders are also tested in all four core subjects.  This is the Exit-Level test, meaning that students must pass all four sections in order to graduate.  The E/LA test is in March; the other three tests are at the end of April.

12th graders only take the TAKS test if they failed one or more sections of the 11th grade, Exit-Level test.  Opportunities to re-test on all four sections are in July, October, March, and late April.
