SPECIAL OPERATIONS OF THE RUDDER RANGERS
Choir The Rudder Choir Department had seven singers make the 9th and 10th grade All-Region Choir: Amy Loke - Soprano, Charity Scroggs - Soprano, Ashley Morehead - Alto, Madison Hancock - Alto, Cade Wood - Tenor, Carson Wehmeyer - Tenor, Matt Hayhurst - Bass. Congratulations!
Ranger Spirit Teams The Ranger Cheerleaders, Mascot, and Guard attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association Camp at Texas A&M University. The student-athletes participated in the Co-Ed Varsity and Junior Varsity divisions. The teams were awarded three Superior team trophies. Mascot, James Salazar was awarded a Superior mascot trophy. Freshmen Alexis Gutierrez and Kristal Alvarado along with Sophomore April Amaya, competed as Camp Stars. Sophomore Guards Josh Thornton and Guillermo Saucedo were awarded All-Star honors, which afford them the opportunity to travel to London to perform.
Rangerettes Drill Team The Rangerettes attended USA Jazz Camp at Cy-Ridge High School this August. The eight member charter team brought 48 Superior team ribbons back to Rudder High School and one individual Super Sensational Dancer ribbon by Meredith Holmes. Meredith was among the eight finalists selected out of 200 dancers in the camp. In addition, the team won a Superior Team Plaque for their accumulative awards throughout the week. Rangerettes include: Sarah Badillo, Allison Glover, Meredith Holmes, Lorian Hopcus, Rebekah Irick, Lauren Landmark, Amanda Payne, and Kari Simmons.
