 HOSTS
(Help One Student To Succeed)


HOSTS is a nationwide program designed to help students improve their reading skills.  Students' work is individualized for their specific needs.  Mentors from the community work one-on-one to help guide the students through their lessons.  The average student will improve by two grade levels per year on his/her reading skills.

Mentors are scheduled to work for 30 minutes with one child. Some mentors choose to stay for an hour and work with two children if the schedule permits.  Mentors will be assigned to the same student(s) at the same day and time each week.   

You do not need teaching experience, only the desire to help a child learn.  Training and materials are provided the first day of HOSTS.
 You can make a significant difference in a child's life!
