Welcome to our class website! Our class is reaching for the stars! In first grade we learn how to read with fluency and comprehension. It is a goal for every first grader to read at a minimum of 60 words correctly per minute with comprehension. We learn to read through various brain based learning modalities (decoding the word, chunking, stretching the letters to hear the sound, tactile, kinesthetic, auditory, and visual imagery).
